Lighting Designer

Ilo is a designer with a keen interest in creating spaces for people. She classifies herself as an empathetic designer, with the ability to put herself in the shoes of an occupant and create thoughtfully designed spaces. Ilo has a background in theatrical lighting design, originally studying Drama at Trinity College Dublin. After working for a number of years on award winning productions, she switched her focus to architectural lighting design.

She earned her masters in lighting design from Aalborg University, Copenhagen, before coming to New York in 2017.

She has a historical connection to design coming from a family of artisans and craftspeople, and her foray into lighting design seemed both accidental and inevitable.
