Craig Young IES
Jr. Lighting Designer
Craig has over 20 years of experience in the field of lighting design, having first applied his talents to the stage before expanding his career into the field of architectural lighting. He has taught at several institutions including the University at Buffalo, Florida International University, Fort Lewis College, and the University of Southern Indiana. He has designed over 50 shows both nationally and internationally including Edinburgh Fringe Festival, La Mama, and was the resident designer at New Harmony Theatre, Baltimore Theatre Project.
He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in theatrical design from Lock Haven University and a Masters of Fine Arts from Virginia Tech. Looking to explore new avenues of the lighting industry, he has also received a Masters in Architectural Lighting Design from the New York School of Interior Design. During this time, he received an honorable mention from the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) Student Lighting Competition for his luminaire design titled Unity of Light.
Craig’s unique and extensive experience in theatrical design contributes to the development of creatively expressive lighting designs.
